Wotc steam workshop does not download subscribed mods

If that's a problem, as it has been for a number of people on these forums already, then you can download and manage them manually instead. There's a Steam Workshop Downloader (google that and it'll be the first result), not sure if it works with Civ 6's workshop, but if it does then that's an easy way to do it.

I have tried verifying the game cache and making sure all mods are gone from the game, but still they won't download/update even given hours.

Make sure it's showing the maximum amount of items per page, and then open the bookmark script. This will automatically press the unsubscribe button for every mod currently on the page, give it like 5 seconds, it's pretty fast. How do I actually download the maps I've subscribed to? I hope it doesn't involve going into the actual Portal 2 game, as it's a bit of an inconvenience to have to start it up just to download the maps. N.B. Important Do not delete the config files in the game directory, i.e. Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Config - the game will fail to start if you do. Start the game with only the Long War of the Chosen and X2WOTCCommunityHighlander mods selected, as well as the required mods listed in step 4.
